For sale is this lovely sterling lorgnette from Victorian times.  The lorgnette is in excellent shape, the opening mechanism works great, the lenses are not scratched or broken.  They do not magnify.
The lorgnette itself is marked in several places, I’m not sure where the marks are from, perhaps France?  Since I don’t know what the marks mean, I wanted to make sure it was sterling.  So I tested it and it shows a dark red for sterling (see last photo).
It comes paired with a necklace by Beau Jewelry that is marked sterling.  The necklace is contemporary, but the two look great together.
The lorgnette alone weighs 24.8 g and the necklace weighs 13.3 g.
The necklace is about 30 inches in length.
